Service Description

This course is for anyone interested in becoming a Pistol instructor. This course will cover the legal and liability aspects of being a pistol instructor. It will also teach the student the breakdown of the pistol and how to teach someone how to shoot a pistol. Students will go through drills, both dry and live fire. Students must be able to detect when someone is a problem shooter and explain the problem and how to fix it. Students will be placed into the role of the instructor and have to run courses of fire on the live range. Students will need to bring a hand-held flashlight to cover the aspects of using a light and also teaching the use of flashlights. This course will be held at Mineral Area College Law Enforcement Academy and Darrell S. Cole Memorial Shooting Range. EQUIPMENT NEEDED FOR THE COURSE: Training Clothing. - Vest, Duty Belt, Rifle - Eye/Ear Protection - 3 magazines minimum - 250 rounds of handgun INSTRUCTORS TEACHING THE COURSE: Lt. Jason Fitzwater
